VANTED does not contain any logging functionality or hidden features. It connects to the internet only for network related functionality on users request. During startup the Java Web Start system will automatically look for updated system files.
Installation note: If you use an open distribution of the JDK or JRE, it could happen that the execution of the installer aborts, showing an error similar to the following: "This application requires a Java Runtime Environment 1.8.0". In this case, you need to execute the installer using the command line. For this, within your command line, navigate to the folder containing the installation file and execute the following command:
java -jar vanted-X.Y.Z-install.exe
Run Vanted as Web Start on Windows
- Go to Start and search for Run and open it.A command prompt window will appear.
- Type javaws https://kim25.wwwdns.kim.uni-konstanz.de/vanted/release/current/Webstart/start64.jnlp
Provided your system is 32-bit, you should change the start64.jnlp to start.jnlp in the link.
